The famous German psychic Paul the Octopus has received death threats from angry German fans who are blaming the creature for their defeat during the world cup final.

Paul has made correct predictions for all international games played by the German soccer team since 2008. He became famous during this world cup after making correct predictions for all the 8 games Germany played. In his new role he has only made one mistake, back in 2008 when he predicted Spain would beat Germany in the UEFA cup.
The aquarium director has mentioned that they have extended their security services to cater for any potential threat to Paul and his keepers. Spain has officially offered him protection by granting him refuge in Spain.

If you had followed Paul’s suggestions and bet $20 at the beginning of the world cup and reinvested that money in a new bet before each game , you would now have $20000! That must be why a British bookmaker has also offered to rescue him and to use his talents for other major sport events.
What does the future hold for Paul? Will he end up on our screens during the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand or will he end up on someones plate? Hopefully next time we see him on TV will be with with a partner and some baby octopuses (also called octopi).
